Steel Train will celebrate the holidays with three New York-area shows. On December 29 and 30 the New Jersey-bred band will return to Hoboken, NJ’s Maxwell’s for two Steel Train’s Christmas Vacation performance. The first night of the group’s run will feature material from 2007’s indie-rock leaning Trampoline and the band’s forthcoming studio album (including a few concert debuts). The second night of Steel Train’s Christmas Vacation will feature rarely played songs from the group’s early, folk-influenced releases For You My Dear, Twilight Tales and 1969, as well as b-sides, covers and tracks off Trampoline. The band’s December 30 setlist will be compiled by group bassist—and longtime Jambands.com scribe—Evan Winiker and narrowed down through fan votes. The band will then close its hometown stretch with a headling show at Brooklyn, NY’s Brooklyn Bowl on January 2.
