Athens, OH’s Papadosio is the latest band to host its own festival. Rootwire 2011 will take place in Logan, OH from August 4-7. In addition to multiple sets from the event’s host, the music festival will feature: Emancipator, Invisible Allies, Bluetech Kilowatts, The Werks, The Malah, Zoogma, Ultraviolet Hippopotamus, D.V.S., RoeVy, Up Until Now and many others. The festival will also feature a live art circus tent, a Silent Disco Stage with two mixes at a time, art installations, graffiti walls, raised hooping and poi stands in front of all stages, body painting, workshops, speakers, morning yoga/meditation, forest lighting and other activities.
As the band explains, “Rootwire is a festival for the Freedom Fighter in all of us. It is a gathering of those who want to see change and reciprocate it. Welcome to the only festival that treats all art equal and all in attendance as VIPs. Rootwire, brought to you directly by the members of Papadosio, was designed from the ground up as a means to show that big headliner names and corporate sponsorships are not what makes or breaks a festival. We have assembled the nation’s best up and coming transcendental artists, and will put them on the biggest and best stage/soundsystem they will be on this summer, in order to show that it is not who you are that counts, it is the quality of your art and the deepness of your message.”
Up next for Papadosio is a performance at Atlanta, GA’s King Plow Arts Center on May 11.
