Last year Moogfest, the event that celebrates the life and work of Bob Moog, inventor of the Moog synthesizer, moved to his longtime adopted home of Asheville, NC. The event will return on October 28-30 with a previously-announced line-up that features: Tangerine Dream, the Flaming Lips, STS9, Umphrey’s McGee, Hans-Joachim Roedelius, Suicide, Passion Pit, Ghostland Observatory, Crystal Castles, Chromeo, Battles, Mayer Hawthorne & The County, M83, Holy F**k, Matthew Dear, Twin Shadow and Toro y Moi. Moogfest has just announced its next round of artists, including: Moby who will be performing with a full band, Amon Tobin: ISAM Live, Dan Deacon, The Antlers, Atlas Sound, Kode9, Glasser, Beak> (Portishead’s Geoff Barrow), Stickmen (Tony Levin & Pat Mastelotto) and Lunzproject (Hans-Joachim Roedelius & Tim Story). Music will take place at the Asheville Civic Center Arena, the Thomas Wolfe Auditorium, the Orange Peel Social & Pleasure Club and other locales. In addition to these performances, Moogfest will offer workshops, talks, interactive experiences and art exhibitions.
