Last night, Tuesday, June 24, Taylor Swift was a surprise guest during the second annual Brooklyn Bowl Nashville-hosted Tight Ends & Friends event. The occasion was billed to feature headliners Jordan Davis, Chase Rice, Sophia Scott and Graham Barham. The pop superstar’s unannounced appearance resulted in peppy delivery of the 2014 single, “Shake It Off.”
Videos surfaced online showing the 35-year-old songstress taking the Brooklyn Bowl stage during country favorite Kane Brown’s live performance at the community giveback event. He set up the audience by teasing his plans to bring out a “really, really, really special guest.” Swift’s arrival on stage was met with excitement from the crowd, at the encouragement of Brown, “Theoretically, how loud can you get?”
Speaking to the packed house, Swift said, “We would like to dedicate this to our favorite players who are going to play, and these are the tight ends.” With Rice’s acoustic guitar slung around her neck, on loan for the occasion, Swift led a high-energy rendition of the 1989 featured track, atop wails of excitement from the packed house. Kane remained on stage and tossed in lines, making for a de facto duet.
Swift’s arrival was due to her boyfriend, Travis Kelce’s involvement with the Tight Ends & Friends event, the music portion of the three-day summer training camp known as Tight End University, which was started by No. 87 on the Kansas City Chiefs in 2021.
After Swift’s delivery, she remained in the building, reportedly singing along to the other musical performances and celebrating with the rest of the attendees.
