Tonight, the life of the late Craig Marshall, the founding member of the legendary Grateful Dead tribute band, Cubensis, will be celebrated with a memorial gathering at My Place in Huntington Beach, Calif.

Marshall staked his claim as a founding member of the highly regarded Southern California tribute act beginning in 1987 after ongoing and shared dissatisfaction with the lack of Grateful Dead shows in the Los Angeles area and was instrumental in fostering the Grateful Dead’s lasting mass popularity in the Los Angeles area. Sadly he passed away after a prolonged battle with cancer in June.

The public memorial is open to everyone and requires no tickets or cover charge. The event will feature a variety of guest musicians, including former members of Cubensis and friends and collaborators of Mashall’s during his 35-year career. Seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis. 

There will also be many raffle items. Each attendee will be able to enter the raffle. Winners will be notified via text. The organizers also have free posters for the first 500 people who arrive. Those who cannot attend will be able to see the entire show livestreamed on Facebook and YouTube.
