Legendary soul singer Mavis Staples has enlisted some very famous faces for her three-part Mavis & Friends celebration.

For her May 9 show at New York’s famed Apollo Theater, Staples will be joined by Talking Heads frontman David Byrne, Jon Batiste, Warren Haynes, Nicole Atkins and more.

On May 15, Staples will take her show to Nashville’s legendary Ryman Auditorium for a run with John Prine, Cody Dickinson, Luther Dickinson and others.

Finally, on May 22 Staples will jam out with Jerry Harrison of Talking Heads, Phoebe Bridgers and Trombone Shorty (just to name a few).

It appears that country star Jason Isbell will be only musician – other than Staples – performing at all three dates.

“SO many great friends are coming out to participate in the very special MAVIS & FRIENDS shows this May!” Staples wrote via Facebook. “I am honored to celebrate my 80th birthday with all of them. “

The singer also recently announced a new studio record, produced by Ben Harper.
