J.J. Cale and Randall Bramblett took the stage with Widespread Panic last night at the Smirnoff Music Center in Dallas, TX. Bramblett (saxophone) joined the group for Christmas Katie midway through the second set. Cale (guitar, vocals) then emerged for Ride Me High’ and returned for the encore, Pickin Up The Pieces.
Cale, who opened the show, is probably best known for his classic After Midnight, which Eric Clapton popularized (his version became a Top 20 hit in 1970).
Widespread kicks off a three-night run Friday at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO. For details, visit the bands official website.
