Strangefolk has announced that it will honor its fans in several ways at the 7th annual Garden of Eden festival, which will take place August 31 September 2 at Haystack Mountain in southern Vermont. Sixty fans will be given VIP area access for the weekend. Winners will be randomly selected from the first 1,000 ticket orders. In addition, twenty names out of the first 300 ticket orders will be selected to receive VIP laminates. Eden has always been about thanking our fans for the support they’ve given us, says guitarist Jon Trafton. This should be a fun way to connect with some folks we might not ordinarily get a chance to meet at a show. At past Edens we’ve often headed out into the camping area after sets to check out the scene and mingle with our friends and fans. It’s nice to have a show that’s so relaxed that way. Here’s a chance for people to come into our zone during a show.’
The band members are also encouraging any musicians to bring instruments for campsite jamming, as they plan to collaborate with fans throughout the event.
The group will to pay tribute to the Strangefolk Fan2Fan, an email discussion list, by giving out various awards, such as ‘Best Review Writer,’ ‘List Peace Keeper’ and ‘Most Likely to Quit School/Work to Go on Tour’. Strangefolk will also play a set of music voted on by the fans at some point throughout the weekend.
Early-bird tickets go on sale July 8 through Strangefolk.com.
