Umphreys McGee keyboardist Joel Cummins and guitarist Jake Cinninger jammed with Eckobase last night at Daves on Dickson in Fayetteville, AR. During Eckobases opening set, Cummins and Cinninger joined in for some extended instrumental improvisation.
During Umphreys set, Bailey the Dog appeared on stage for a blues-based howling session backed by the band. Bailey is the house engineers dog and also joined Umphreys the last time they were in town. No word on whether or not he was in key, but he was definitely howling with the musicians, and not at them.
Umphreys McGee plays tonight at Train Hoppers in Oklahoma City. Look for an interview with guitarist Brendan Bayliss in the feature section of this month’s Jambands.com, online this week. The bands official website is www.umphreys.com.
