The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have received reports of ten confirmed cases of Hepatitis A in young adults that have attended outdoor concerts this summer. Because String Cheese Incident headlined some of the festivals where it is believed people were infected, the CDC will be attending the bands shows at the Warfield Theater in San Francisco this weekend and at Trinity County Fairgrounds in Hayfork, CA on July 29 (a few other cases have been identified in attendees of events where SCI did not perform). String Cheese Incident has posted a message on its website asking fans to stop by the CDC booth at the upcoming shows to provide information on others that may be infected.
‘The String Cheese Incident has always held that the safety of their community is of utmost priority,’ said a statement posted to the group’s website. ‘We are confident that this recent cluster of diagnosis does not compromise this in any way. The band, management, and promoters along this summer run will be taking every step possible to make sure that the issue does not in fact become a problem. We also need you, our community, to help.’
