For the second time this tour, Govt Mule performed one of its albums in its entirety. Friday at the Vic Theater in Chicago, the quartet played Life Before Insanity to begin the first set. The album includes tracks such as Bad Little Doggie, Lay Your Burden Down and Tastes Like Wine. To kick off the tour, Mule performed its record, Dose, on October 10 at the Electric Factory in Philadelphia.
In addition to guest appearances by New Earth Muds Chris Robinson and Paul Stacey, who have sat in regularly this tour, Saturdays show also featured Greg Rzab, one of a handful of bassists that toured with Gov’t Mule during the last couple of years. He joined in for the encore, Soulshine.
Mules next show is Wednesday at Mississippi Nights in St. Louis. For the complete schedule, visit www.mule.net.
