On October 14, Relix Magazine will host the CMJ Music Marathons first jamband showcase at New York’s Lion’s Den. Featuring the Bomb Squad, Licorice, Jonah Smith, Ten Mile Tide, and Matt Turk, the evening-long showcase will highlight several of this years most prominent live acts. Jonah Smith and Ten Mile Tide are among the ten finalists of the first annual JamOff competition, while the Bomb Squad won the American Music Awards Coca-Cola New Music Award during last years CMJ Festivities. Jambands are, usually, ignored by the college radio community, says Jonathan Schwartz, Relix Magazines Marketing Director. I think its important to showcase what is, arguably the most exciting new music being created. In addition, all ticket buyers for this show will receive a one-year subscription to Relix Magazine.
The CMJ Music Marathon kicks off on Wednesday October 13, running through October 16. Al Franken will offer the events keynote address.
