The incarnation of Aquarium Rescue Unit that toured in the mid-90s has just released a new live DVD. ARU at the Jacksonville Jazz Festival was recorded, well at the Jacksonville Jazz Festival, in 1996 and features Jimmy Herring on guitar, Oteil Burbridge on bass, Kofi Burbridge on keyboards, Sean O’Rourke on drums, and Paul Henson on vocals. This is the same roster of players that also appears on the groups recent studio disc The Calling. An old-school version of the band reunited last week for a few shows with Col. Bruce Hampton joined by Herring, Burbridge, Jeff Apt q-258 Sipe, and Count M’butu, the roster that is slated to appear on Jam Cruise 3 on January 6 10.
