Covers kicked off two of moe.‘s NYE sets at the Cox Pavilion, Las Vegas, NV. Back in Sin City for the first time since April, moe. opened with a semi old-school cover of ‘The Boy’s Are Back in Town,’ a number last played in November 2001. Spicing up their setlist with staples like ‘Bullet,’ ‘Water,’ and ‘Buster,’ moe. also offered an improv-heavy second set capped off with an appropriate ‘Time Ed.’ After kick-starting their first set with the debut of the Beastie Boys’ ‘Fight For Your Right to Party,’ moe. offered a hefty third set, concluding with ‘Plane Crash.’ Longtime fans surely enjoyed the breakout of percussionist Jim Loughlin’s ‘Farmer Ben,’ last played in June 2000.
