After a few years of semi-hibernation (save for one-off appearances at gatherings like the Hedgpeth Festival), Primus will return at full force later this year. The veteran trio, featuring Les Claypool, Larry Lalonde and Tim Alexander, has confirmed a series of new releases and new tourdates. On October 17, Primus will release both a new DVD and a new CD. The groups first CD-retrospective, They Cant All be Zingers: The Best of Primus, will feature 16 songs recorded between 1990 to 2003, including Jerry Was A Race Car Driver,’ ‘My Name Is Mud’ and the Grammy-nominated ‘Wynona’s Big Brown Beaver. Blame It On The Fish, the groups third DVD, will mix documentary footage of the groups 2003 reunion tour with out-of-the-box narratives (including a 30-minute futuristic documentary about the band set in the year 2065 and interviews with the then-102-year-old Claypool). The group will also kickoff a national tour November 1 at the Austin Music Hall.
