Umphreys McGee kicked off its fall tour Thursday at Boulder, COs intimate Fox Theatre. A night later, the group traveled to the nearby city of Denver for a three-set performance at the Fillmore Auditorium. As a treat, Brendan Bayliss and Jake Cinninger played acoustic throughout the groups first set, offering stripped down versions of August, Passing, That’s the Way, End of the Road and In the Kitchen. Jeff Austin made a guest appearance on That’s the Way, before offering an acoustic duet with Bayliss on the new original Always Up. Saturday Umphreys McGee also invited out Ivan Neville for JaJunk during its performance at Davenport, IAs River Roots Live Music Festival. Neville was at the River Roots Live Music Festival performing with his group, Dumpstaphunk. Umphreys McGee will perform at Buffalo, NYs Town Ballroom Wednesday.
