Longtime Parliament-Funkadelic keyboardist Bernie Worrell joined the Derek Trucks Band on Friday. During the groups performance at the West Hampton Beach Performing Arts Center in West Hampton, NY, Worrell stepped up for a take on Toots Hibberts Sailing On (which the DTB covered on its Songlines disc). Tonight, Trucks will guest with the Wynton Marsalis septet for its Jazz at Lincoln Center spring gala fundraiser in New York City and from there his band will travel to Buffalo for a Tuesday night gig at the Center for the Arts.
