Last year on July 3, the inaugural North Mississippi Hill Country Picnic celebrated the legacies of R.L. Burnside, Junior Kimbrough, and Othar Turner. Kenny Brown anchored the concluding Hill Country Jam, while other performers including Duwayne Burnside & the Mississippi Mafia, Jimbo Mathus & Knockdown South and the Rising Star Fife & Drum Band. All of those artists are back for the Second Annual Country Picnic, which will expand to two dates in 2007. Once again Potts Camp, Mississippi will be the locale for the event which will take place on June 29 and 3. One fitting addition to this years line-up will be the North Mississippi Allstars, who will appear on Saturday the 30th. A portion of every ticket sold to the North Mississippi Hill Country Picnic will be donated to MusiCares.
