On May 7, 1998, the Disco Biscuits played Lancaster, PAs Chameleon Club for the first time. The show is notable for many reasons, including the debut of two covers the group played frequently in the late 90s: Princes 1999 and the Beatles Norwegian Wood. Both numbers were in heavy rotation for a brief time, before the Disco Biscuits retired them on December 31, 1998 and September 15, 1999 respectively. Last night, the Disco Biscuits played a stealth instrumental show at the Chameleon Club under the name TractorBeam. Nodding to the small venue, which the group last played in April of 1999, the Disco Biscuits broke out both Norwegian Wood and 1999 during a show stacked with older staples like Pink Floyds Run Like Hell and Mindless Dribble. The group even repeated a sequence from its May 7, 1998 show, segueing 1999 into the early favorite Mr. Don. The Disco Biscuits will open its summer tour with Umphreys McGee tonight at Virginias Charlottesville Pavilion.
