As longtime readers with particularly good memories may recall, the New Deal recruited a few female vocalists to sing on its 2003 studio release, Gone Gone Gone. One of those singers was Leslie Feist, who soon afterwards, scored a fanbase of her own through her work with Broken Social Scene, a series of successful solo albums and, most recently, via her single 1,2,3,4 which is used in an iPod Nano commercial. Not only did Feist sing on the several of the Gone Gone Gone. cuts, but she also co-authored a song with the group titled Dont Blame Yourself. For a look back at Feists studio collaboration with the fellow Canadian trio, read Jeff Wafuls interview with Jamie Shields from around the time of the albums release. Also be sure to hear some music from Feists Broken Social Scene collaborator Kevin Drew on the current episode of Cold Turkey.
