Al Di Meola has confirmed on his website that Return to Forever will mount a tour next summer. Chick Corea founded the group in 1972 along with bassist Stanley Clarke, Airto Moreira on percussion, Joe Farrell on saxophone and Flora Purim on vocals. Over the next two years, the roster shifted a bit until it landed on the best-known version of the group with guitarist Di Meola and drummer Lenny White. The group disbanded at the close of the 1970’s only to resurface briefly in 1983. However, next summer, twenty-five years after their last public performances the quartet will return to the stage, with festivals the most likely settings for the return of Return To Forever.
