This past Friday in Boston, the Derek Trucks Band began an April tour in support of Santana. Then on Saturday, in Uncasville, CT, Carlos Santana manifested his respect for the opening act by performing a song with the group. The guitarist contributed to a version of ‘My Favorite Things’ that appeared towards the close of the DTB set (performing the arrangement of the Richard Rodgers/Oscar Hammerstein song from The Sound of Music that became one of John Coltrane’s signature numbers). This evening both groups will appear at Madison Square Garden.
