The two-set, evening with portion of Govt Mules summer rolled through the Northeast this weekend where the quartet was joined by a few old friends. On Friday Govt Mule performed at Hampton, NHs Hampton Beach Casino where longtime Warren Haynes associates Howie Johnson and Mike Barnes emerged in succession to play guitar on It Hurts Me Too and Goin’ Out West, respectively. A night later, Govt Mule appeared at Asbury Park, NJs Stone Pony where both Apollo Sunshine and American Babies supplied support duties. Partway through Govt Mule set, American Babies guitarist Scott Metzger took the stage with the group for a rocking version of 32/20 Blues. Govt Mule will appear at Englewood, NJs Bergen PAC this Thursday, while Metzgers recently reactivated band RANA will perform at New Yorks Mercury Lounge on August 16.
