The Loki Music Festival will debut just south of Ashville, NC on October 10-12. Cake has just been added to a roster of performers that also includes The Roots, Toots and The Maytals, Porter Batiste Stoltz, JJ Grey & Mofro, Antibalas, Toubab Krewe, Lettuce, Jeff Sipe Project, Acoustic Syndicate, Robert Walter Trio, Tim Reynolds & TR3, The Lee Boys, Col. Bruce Hampton & The Quark Alliance, Donna Jean and the Tricksters, Larry Keel and Natural Bridge, Bonerama and Papa Mali. In addition, the festival will feature a number of collaborative sets that place a number of its participating artists in new contexts. The Peruvian Pedicurists will draw together Hampton, Sipe, Walter, Reynolds, PBS and members of the Lee Boys. The Big Ol’ Nasty Getdown featuring George Clinton is projected as an expansive funk revue with Clinton at the helm along with nearly three dozen artists, including members of Galactic, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Dumpstaphunk and Yo Mamas Big Old Booty Band. Moreover, as previously reported, Loki will feature a version of the Everyone Orchestra with Jon Fishman, Marco Benevento, Toubab Krewe’s Justin Perkins and Luke Quaranta, Papa Mali and others.
