Last night Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey appeared at The Tractor Tavern in Seattle with STEBMO opening the evening. The STEBMO line-up includes guitarist Bill Frisell, who later took the stage with Jacob Fred for a series of extended improvisations. This is the first tour by the current incarnation of JFJO, which now features co-founder pianist Brian Haas on piano along with drummer Josh Raymer, bassist Matt Hayes and guitarist Chris Combs. The group is offering up a taste of its current sound with a free mp3 download of its recent Los Angeles gig, as well as free download of the band’s new studio release, Winterwood. JFJO is off until Wednesday when it begins a Colorado run at Hodi’s Halfnote in Ft. Collins.
