Trey Anastasios sister and only sibling Kristy Manning passed away yesterday afternoon following a courageous battle with cancer. In addition to being one of Phishs first fans and biggest supporters, in recent years Manning helped form and lead Anastasios non-profit endeavor, The Seven Below Arts Initiative. Manning graduated from Harvard and went on to receive a public policy degree from Duke.
A message on Phishs homepage says, Kristy was a loving sister, mother, daughter, friend, and a role model for all. Her positive attitude, strength of character and continued outpouring of love and support left a profound impact on everyone she knew. She will truly be missed.
Site editor Dean Budnick adds, ‘When my sister passed away in August of 2004, Kristy reached out to me with the kindest of words. She didn’t know my sister although as she pointed out, they certainly shared musical tastes and a love for hockey (Kristy played for the Harvard women’s team as an undergraduate). It reflects on Kristy’s character that she sought me out in my time of grief and made that connection. Just as her words offered me comfort, all of us here at the site hope we can offer the same to her family.’
