Back in 2012, Tyler Ramsey and Carl Broemel initially spent time on the road together. Ramsey was then a member of Band Of Horses, who were opening for Broemel’s group, My Morning Jacket. In 2019, two years after Ramsey departed BoH, he embarked on a couple tours with Broemel. This choice creative partnership eventually yielded Celestun, a collaborative album that will be released on January 15, 2026.
Ramsey and Carl Broemel have shared four songs from the forthcoming record, which will focus almost exclusively on acoustic instrumentals. In October they debuted both the title track and “Nevermind.” Then a few days ago they offered up two new songs—their own “Elizabeth Brown” and the record’s lone cover, a version of Neil Young’s “Sail Away.” As for the latter selection, Ramsey notes, “Carl and I have both been on stage with Neil and had the chance to play songs with him. We both have our own little Neil Young connection that we thought would be fun to celebrate.”
Ramsey and Carl Broemel have also just confirmed a 26-city tour in support of Celestun. The first gig is on the day following the release at the 30A Songwriters Festival in Santa Rosa Beach, FL. The duo will then roue to the West Coast before traveling back East. The official itinerary appears below, underneath the Visualizers for ““Elizabeth Brown” and “Sail Away.”
