DJ Logic has announced a pair of performances in Las Vegas to follow Phish’s hotly-anticipated Sphere residency in April. Booked for April 19 and 20–the second and third nights of Phish’s four-show run–at Downtown Las Vegas’ The Sand Dollar, these shows will figure the genre-bending turntablist alongside an all-star lineup of jam figureheads, including members of The Disco Biscuits, Lettuce and Les Claypool’s Fearless Flying Frog Brigade. With this ensemble, the artist will do what he does best and bridge the worlds of jam, jazz, funk, hip-hop and more to keep the Phish excitement flowing with some pioneering, thought-provoking, high-energy late-night fusion.
DJ Logic’s band will comprise Disco Biscuits keyboardist Aron Magner, longtime Claypool collaborator Skerik on saxophone and Lettuce’s Adam Deitch, Adam “Shmeeans” Smirnoff and Eric “Jesus” Coomes on the drums, guitar and bass respectively. In keeping with the artist’s history with this sort of assemblage, all of the musicians tapped for the DJ Logic & Friends Vegas shows are not only esteemed instrumentalists, but also professional category-disruptors, coming from backgrounds in such rule breaking styles as jamtronica, electro-funk, and progressive metal.
Doors for the afterparties will open at 11:30 p.m., just as Phish departs from the stage at the Sphere. The shows will begin at 12:30 a.m. and run into the early morning hours. Tickets are available for presale now with code LOGIC. General on-sale will begin tomorrow, March 15 at 2:00 p.m. ET.
