Today, Holly Bowling has announced a pair of solo shows slated to take place over two nights, beginning with an Aug. 10 appearance at Pine Creek Lodge in Livingston, Mont., and concluding with a final performance on Aug. 11 at Wachholz College Center in Kalispell, Mont.

The musician’s newly dropped dates in Big Sky Country arrive before she is expected to take the stage with frequent collaborators Greensky Bluegrass during an already announced Aug. 13 stand at Grand Targhee Bluegrass Festival, which will happen in Alta, Wy.

In 2020, Bowling released Seeking All That’s Still Unsung, which is a collection of nine renditions of Grateful Dead originals, including fan favorites “China Cat Sunflower” and “I Know You Rider” alongside deep cut “Sage and Spirits” and more. The previously mentioned tunes have frequented the artist’s live performances, permeating the setlists and delighting her audience.

After releasing Seeking All That’s Still Unsung, the San Francisco-based pianist delivered Wilderness Sessions (Live from the Salt Flats) in 2021, where she ran through added Grateful Dead covers, including a special take on “Dark Star,” amongst others. Then, in 2022, she teamed up with former Ghost Land bandmate Tom Hamilton and additional players to formulate the Lacuna record, prior to entering a solo phase.
