While the technology continues to advance, and options for live shows presents new opportunities for the use of artificial intelligence, a particular songstress is opting out. Dolly Parton chimed in during a press conference, where she told folks, she’s not interested in leaving her “soul” on earth.

When asked about the potential for using A.I., or hologram presentation, Parton commented: “I think I’ve left a great body of work behind,” she said. “I have to decide how much of that high-tech stuff I want to be involved [with] because I don’t want to leave my soul here on this earth.”

She went on to say, “I think with some of this stuff I’ll be grounded here forever… I’ll be around, we’ll find ways to keep me here.” She also joked that “everything” about her, including “any intelligence” was artificial anyway.

The A.I. hologram in question was sparked by ABBA’s recent venture into the use of said form of technology, through the launch of Voyage, a cutting-edge presentation of the Swedish band’s most beloved material.

The aforementioned press conference pertained to Parton’s upcoming album, titled Rockstar, Nov. 17, 2023. The LP is the artist’s first foray into rock-and- roll. The record will feature guest spots from acts such as Stevie Nicks, Elton John, Paul McCartney, P!nk and more.

The album is set to release November 17, and pre-orders are available. Read more about Parton’s forthcoming LP, here
