Last night in The Big Easy, The Disco Biscuits concluded their time at the Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts. After kicking off a two-night run on Friday, May 5, the ensemble returned for their final appearances on Saturday, May 6. During the first frame, the group welcomed Karina Rykman to the stage to assist with the evening’s rendition of the David Bowie classic, “Let’s Dance.”

The Disco Biscuits’ Saturday set started with the original “Mulberry’s Dream” followed by a run-through of “Little Shimmy in a Conga Line,” featured on the LP, The Wind at Four to Fly. Next, they brought out Rykman, who lent a groove during the Bowie original. The aforementioned cover rolled into an inverted “Confrontation,” “The Deal,” “Twisted in the Road,” and just the end of “Home Again” to conclude the initial frame.

The second half of the night heated up with “Space Train,” which merged with an inverted take on “Above the Waves” and “Tourist (Rocket Ship).” “Munchkin Invasion” emerged prior to “Cyclone,” a set-ending rendition of “To Be Continued.” The Disco Biscuits landed on “Highwire” for the night’s encore. Last night’s concert came before the band jets to Reykjavík, Iceland, for their TranceAtlantic concert experience, including a May 21 Last Night set from Rykman. For tickets, follow this link
