On Saturday night, Bobby Weir & Wolf Bros concluded their four-evening residency at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, N.Y. For the final night, Bobby Weir & Wolf Bros, along with the Wolfpack–ten musicians total–pulled out all the stops by uniting a group of multi-generational talent, including Goose’s Rick Mitarotonda and Peter Anspach, Kenny Brooks of RatDog, Sasha Dobson and Dred Scott to the mix.

The evening kicked off with the core ensemble hinting about the collaborative nature of the evening to come with “Jack Straw” before they moved into “New Minglewood Blues.” After a rendition of the Bob Dylan-penned “She Belongs to Me” and the Grateful Dead’s “Brown-Eyed Women,” Brooks stepped out on stage to assist on saxophone on “Loose Lucy” and RatDog’s own “Two Djinn.” The band, Brooks and the brass and string section, The Wolfpack, welcomed Scott onstage to close the frame with “Corrina” and “New Speedway Boogie.”

Weir took to the mic to open the second set, saying, “As you may have noticed, I’m joined by Rick Mitarotonda,” who had just settled onstage, guitar in hand. The two then moved into an acoustic duet of “Peggy-O,” which they performed during Goose’s set at Playing In The Sand in Mexico in January. Weir and the Goose guitarist and singer continued with a cover of John Phillips’ “Me and My Uncle” before the core ensemble played two favorites, “Scarlet Begonias” and “Estimated Profit.” Next, the packed stage made some room for Brooks and Anspach, who joined on saxophone and keys, respectively. The members of Goose remained on stage for “The Other One” before Bobby Weir & Wolf Bros the culmination of The Beatles covers they’d been sharing over the run with “Dear Prudence.” From great heights, the ensemble flowed into a jam, starting with “Lady With a Fan,” which then flowed from “Terrapin Station” into “Terrapin Transit,” into “At a Siding,” and finally into “Terrapin Flyer” to close the second segment.

For the encore, Dobson stepped out, as did Mitarotanda for “Broke Down Palace” before the latter joined Weir for the perfect end to the Saturday show “One More Saturday Night.” Enjoy a clip of Mitarotanda singing “Broke Down Palace” with Weir and the full setlist below.
