British singer-songwriter Jacob Collier has announced two special shows at the legendary Blue Note Jazz Club with Chris Thile in New York on Oct. 17. As is the standard for the Blue Note, the early show is set for 8 p.m., while the late show will take place at 10:30 p.m.

The 28-year-old virtuoso has received critical acclaim and respect from some of the finest musicians in the industry for his impressive vocals, complex compositions and improvisational jazz chops. Throughout his career, Collier has already released five albums, toured the world, and won five grammy awards in various categories. This year, Collier collaborated on a single with John Mayer and Lizzy McAlpine and released his first live record, Piano Ballads – Live From The Djesse World Tour 2022, on Sept. 29.

Thile, a renowned musician in his own right and a 2012 MacArthur Fellow, is best known for his work as a mandolinist with Punch Brothers and Nickel Creek – Thile also hosted the radio variety show A Prairie Home Companion and its successor, Live From Here. Recently, Thile has been serving as a “Creative Partner” with the New York Philharmonic for a set of shows that celebrates the human experience. When reflecting on the potential of those particular performances, Thile expressed his excitement for bringing musicians of different backgrounds together to create something new. “That is where the magic of living in a city like New York is centered,” he proclaimed.

This evening of collaboration between Collier and Thile constitutes another collision of musical worlds at the legendary New York club. Find tickets to the shows here.
