Les Claypool’s Bastard Jazz will celebrate the impending New Year’s Eve holiday with two shows at the JaM Cellars Ballroom in Napa, Calif., on Dec. 30 and 31. The night is billed to feature Claypool alongside his Skerik, Mike Dillon, and special guest drummer for the celebratory event, Vinnie Colaiuta.

“I am a very fortunate fellow on many levels, and now and again, I have to sit back and take stock and relish the fact that I’ve been able to befriend and collaborate with so many amazing artists in and around the music world,” offered Claypool via press release.

He continued, “That list of champions is about to get a notable addition with the upcoming Bastard Jazz shows with the mighty Vinnie Colaiuta on drums.” He then added some information on the guest drummer, “I’ve met Vinnie a few times but have never had the opportunity to stand before him with a four-string hunk of furniture in my hands.”

Claypool concluded, “Those of you in the know will understand the epic possibilities of this impending interaction. Those of you who don’t, I suggest you get on the YouTube machine and go down the Vinnie wormhole. Your brain will melt.”

Tickets go on sale today, Oct. 7, at 1 p.m. ET, 10 a.m. PT. For more information and to secure your tickets for the New Year’s Eve run, visit lesclaypool.com.
