Sweetwater Music Hall, the celebrated non-profit music venue located in Mill Valley, Calif., has announced it will celebrate its 50th anniversary throughout the month of November with musical performances by legendary figures with roots in the San Francisco Bay Area. In addition, the month-long series will include art and photography exhibitions and more.

The official 50th-anniversary concert series will include music by headliner Bobby Weir, who has taken to the storied stage for many performances over the years and will continue the longstanding tradition on Nov. 17. Prior to Weir’s performance, the series will begin on Nov. 4 with fellow San Francisco luminaries, Big Brother & The Holding Company.

After the first night of music the fun will continue on Nov. 8, when Austin DeLone takes the stage. Then, the next night, Jonathan Scales Fourchestra is scheduled to perform before Will Bernard follows up on Nov. 10. The music series will continue with Bonny Hayes on Nov. 11, Tommy Castro & the Painkillers on Nov. 12, and Jules Broussard is expected the following evening.

Weir’s performance will take place next, including an unannounced ensemble of guests. Then, from Nov. 18 through 20, Garage A Trois will grace the stage, before Vinyl does the same on Nov. 23. To follow, Jason Crosby & Friends will play on Nov. 26, and Todd Morgan will follow the next night. Finally, on Nov. 30, the last musical performance will happen, when Ramblin’ Jack Elliot plays at Sweetwater Music Hall.

David Getz of Big Brother & The Holding Company commented on the forthcoming event: “Sweetwater Music Hall has a long and great history in Marin. I have many memories, old and new of playing there, listening to great music there and hanging out with friends there (some of whom are no longer around). It has always been a special club and one of few places where local musicians and bands really want to play at and where we want to invite our friends and fans to hear us.”
