Diplo and Miguel descended upon New York’s Brooklyn Bowl for an impromptu performance on Wednesday night. He took to the DJ booth to spin a medley of his greatest hits to an intimate crowd of listeners after his pop-up concert at the Bushwick Inlet Park was canceled due to crowd control issues. The EDM icon was also joined by Miguel to perform their new song “Don’t Forget My Love.”
After Diplo’s previously announced DJ set at Bushwick Inlet Park was dispersed he jumped in a car in hopes of finding an open venue at which he could perform. From the vehicle, his booking agent phoned the Brooklyn Bowl and requested that his client take the stage for an unannounced set.
Diplo teased the new location of his show by posting a photo of the screens which hang above the lanes at Brooklyn Bowl with his nearly six-million Instagram followers. The post incited excitement as fans made the visual connection and took off toward the new venue. 45 minutes after confirming the location, lines stretched down the block as Diplo prepared to take the stage. The concert featured a plethora of fan favorites and pop hits that kept that crowd dancing throughout the two-hour set.
Diplo showed some love for the venue during the show. The DJ proclaimed, “Shout out to Brooklyn Bowl for letting us have this party in here last minute.”
