Today, Talking Heads frontman David Byrne announced that to celebrate the conclusion of his broadway show American Utopia he and his company plan to put on a special benefit performance, on March 30. The benefit concert is titled American Utopia Farewell! and will share its proceeds with Byrne’s non-profit, Arbutus, which helps lead projects that inspire and educate artists, scientists, journalists, donors, designers, students and more.

Just like the very last show of American Utopia on April 3,  American Utopia Farewell! will take place at the St. James Theatre on Broadway in New York. The cast for the evening includes Byrne with company remembers Jacquelene Acevedo, Gustavo Di Dalva, Daniel Freedman, Chris Giarmo, Tim Keiper, Tendayi Kuumba, Karl Mansfield, Abe Nouri, Mauro Refosco, Stéphane San Juan, and Angie Swan. Additionally, guests will be treated to premium seating, a gift bag and a special post-performance conversation with Byrne.

American Utopia officially opened on Oct. 20, 2019, and closed on Feb. 16, 2020. It reopened multiple times continued to persevere to share its unique musical experience with people visiting across the world despite non-stop hurdles presented by the COVID-19 pandemic.
