Earl Scruggs Music Festival has announced the first round of artists for its inaugural event, taking place Sept. 2-4, 2022. The festivities will take place at the Tryon International Equestrian Center in Mill Spring, N.C. and an array of bluegrass, Americana, Piedmont Blues and old-time music.

The event comes after two back-to-back COVID-19 related cancellations. With its return, Earl Scruggs Music Festival will usher host outfits Jerry Douglas and The Earls of Leicester to the stage. The festival will also include artists Alison Brown, Molly Tuttle & Golden Highway, Dom Flemons, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Sam Bush Band and more.

The festival gets its name from the celebrated American music legend who pioneered a unique banjo picking style, coined “Scruggs style” Earl Scruggs. Scruggs helped christen the bluegrass genre in the late 1940s and inarguably had a profound impact on American Culture.
