On Thursday, Warren Haynes sat in with Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit at New York’s Cipriani Wall Street. The Gov’t Mule guitarist opened the night–which was part of the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation’s 24th Annual Collaborating for a Cure Gala–with an acoustic set and then joined Isbell and his band for three selections: Drivin N Cryin’s “Honeysuckle Blue,” The Black Crowes’ “Sometimes Salvation” and the Allman Brothers Band’s “In Memory of Elizabeth Reed.”

All three selections appear on Isbell’s new Georgia Blue album, which celebrates the music of the Peach State. Isbell promised to make the album if the state went blue during its election this past January. Isbell and Haynes have crossed paths over the years, especially at annual events like Mountain Jam and Christmas Jam.
