Bonnaroo will not take place in 2021, due to excessive water in the wake of Hurricane Ida.
Initally organizers scaled back campgrounds, and asked fans to step forward for full refunds, but the news came on Tuesday, Aug. 31 that the Sept. 2-5 event will be canceled entirely.
“We are absolutely heartbroken to announce that we must cancel Bonnaroo,” reads an official statement. “While this weekend’s weather looks outstanding, currently Centeroo is waterlogged in many areas, the ground is incredibly saturated on our tollbooth paths, and the campgrounds are flooded to the point that we are unable to drive in or park vehicles safely. We have done everything in our power to try to keep the show moving forward, but Mother Nature has dealt us a tremendous amount of rain over the past 24 hours, and we have run out of options to try to make the event happen safely and in a way that lives up to the Bonnaroo experience.”
This marks Bonnaroo’s second year of cancelations, as 2020 was rescheduled and then canceled due to COVID-19.
The event was set to host performers like Foo Fighters, Megan Thee Stallion, Lizzo, Tame Impala, Tyler, The Creator, My Morning Jacket, Goose, The Disco Biscuits and more.

September 1, 2021 at 7:17 amYeah when you involve acts like they have headlining and get rich/trustfund generation Zers that document everything on social media this is what happens. had it been the bonnaroo of the pasts 2002 til they completely sold out in what like 2006 or so we would have dealt with it.

August 31, 2021 at 5:22 pmIf it was sill a bunch of hippies, this wouldn’t have even been a hiccup. You involve Meagan whatever, and this is what you get. That crowd couldn’t fend for itself and has turned into a bootleg Coachella, of sorts. I said what I said…
