Following the news that frontman John Bell has tested positive for COVID-19 and, in turn, Widespread Panic would postpone their Aug. 13-15 run in Austin, the musician has shared a personal message to fans regarding his condition.

“Many thanks for all the messages of concern this afternoon after learning I tested positive for Covid,” Bell wrote on Aug. 13. “My symptoms are mild (slight fever, aches, and a bit of sinus congestion) and I am in no discomfort, apart from postponing our shows in Austin this week.”

The Texas run will now take place from Oct. 8-10, and Panic hopes to return to the stage Aug. 27-29 in Napa, Calif.

Message from JB:

Many thanks for all the messages of concern this afternoon after learning I tested positive for Covid. My symptoms are mild (slight fever, aches, and a bit of sinus congestion) and I am in no discomfort, apart from postponing our shows in Austin this week.

I look forward to our upcoming shows in Napa at the end of this month, and making a return to the Moody Theater in Austin, Oct. 8, 9, & 10.

Thanks again for the well wishes – I echo them back to you with all my Heart.

Love, JB
