Tenacious D has released a cover of two of The Beatles’ timeless Abbey Road tracks, “You Never Give Me Your Money” and “The End.” The cover is overflowing with Jack Black’s inimitable creativity and indomitable humor.
The duo played the tracks from the ’69 classic ardently while staying steadfast to their distinguishing zest. The familiarity of both songs, along with Tenacious D’s style, makes for a perfect rendition for any setting and could easily be listened to on repeat.
Jack Black shows off his range and fearlessness through his distinctive croonings, and with Kyle Gass, scat sings on the track – Black also tosses in some hysterical verses.
Tenacious D will be releasing the cover on a 7-inch vinyl; All proceeds from which will go to Doctors Without Borders.
“Tenacious D are paying tribute to the greatest band in the world…not themselves…the Beatles!!!” Jack Black and Kyle Gass said in a statement (referring to their own classic song “Tribute”), “In the spirit of healing the world….please enjoy Tenacious D’s mashup of two classics from Abbey Road.”
