Dead & Company have announced dates for their 2022 Mexico destination event, Playing in the Sand. The now annual shows will take place Jan. 13-16, 2022 at the Moon Palace resort in Cancún, Mexico.
According to a statement, Dead & Co. and CID Presents will work with their sustainability partner REVERB in order to “expand Playing in the Sand’s comprehensive greening program and make the entire event climate-positive.”
“As part of REVERB’s forthcoming Music Climate Revolution campaign, at least 130% of emissions generated during the 2022 concerts – including guest, artist and crew travel as well as transportation and energy usage throughout the resort and venue – will be neutralized via verifiable clean energy or carbon mitigation projects,” read a statement. “In addition to a single-use plastic-free concert area, all waste discarded throughout the resort will be sorted during the event and diverted from landfill. These efforts have resulted in more responsible and sustainable event production while directly contributing to important local reforestation projects in Mexico which fight the climate crisis.”
The band shared a short promo vid to their social media when announcing the dates. “Now it’s finally time for some good news,” they wrote, before adding, “Paradise waits.” Watch the video below.
Tickets to Playing in the Sand 2022 will go on sale on Apr. 9 at 1 p.m. ET. Those who previously attended the event will have the opportunity to purchase tickets through an Alumni pre-sale, beginning Apr. 7 at 1 p.m. ET.

April 2, 2021 at 10:26 amDumb de Dumb comment Cosmic. Just because you do not believe getting vaccinated is a wise decision millions of us do. I’ll sleep better.
I hope they do come up with a system where proof of vaccination is required to enter venues moving forward (passes for health ailments).
Calling the masses dumb because you do not believe – come on!!
Enjoy the holiday!

And then only if you are stupid enough to get vaccinated.

April 1, 2021 at 3:13 pmDead & Slow at higher prices ever then before. Pandering to “environmental causes” doesn’t come free or cheap. And you know it a load of crap, Hector & Julio are going to toss that crap right into the ocean the minute the band departs…
