On April 9, Rhiannon Giddens will drop They’re Calling Me Home, a new collaborative LP created with her personal and professional partner Francesco Turrisi.

According to a press release the LP was recorded in just six days.

Its lead single “Calling Me Home” was originally written by American bluegrass artist Alice Gerrard.

“Some people just know how to tap into a tradition and an emotion so deep that it sounds like a song that has always been around,” Giddens explained. “‘Calling Me Home’ struck me forcefully and deeply the first time I heard it, and every time since. This song just wanted to be sung and so I listened.”
