To celebrate the release of his EP Show Pony, rising alt-country star (and man of mystery) Orville Peck enlisted hitmaker Shania Twain for the socially-distant, yet wonderfully rockin’ music video for “Legends Never Die.”
“Just got word that the official release date for Show Pony will be Aug 14th,” Peck wrote via Twitter in July. “I wrote a duet for it and somehow wrangled one of my all time country music icons for it. Genuinely this is a dream come true.”
The “Legends Never Die” video not only showcases the increasing trend of drive-in concerts, but also nods to Peck’s guitar skills. Those with keen eyes may also recognize Twain’s look from her mammoth music video, 1997’s “That Don’t Impress Me Much.”

August 17, 2020 at 1:32 pmPretty good song. Sounds a little too close to Kacey Musgraves Slow Burn however to be considered truly original. That guys voice and mask though are pretty off putting. I could maybe tolerate the voice if he didn’t have that mask (WTF indeed). Shania sounds great though. Good to see her doing something interesting.
