To stoke excitement for the release of their new Grateful Dead sneaker, Nike SB enlisted some of their pro skateboarders to show off the new collaboration to the tune of a 2/21/71 “Cumberland Blues.”
Featured skaters include Elissa Steamer, Simon Jensen, Pedro Attenborough, Pierre Leze, Jose “Sixas” Vivero and Ryuhei Kitazume, in cities like San Francisco, Barcelona and Tokyo.
“Set in three colorways, the shoe playfully features bear-inspired detailing, such as a faux-fur and suede upper, a frayed Nike Swoosh mimicking the bears’ collars and an image of the bear on the tongue. (Another iconic Grateful Dead logo, the Steal Your Face skull, is printed on the underside of the sockliner.),” reads an official description.
The orange colorway officially dropped on July 18; the green and yellow editions will be released on July 24.

July 20, 2020 at 12:54 pmWow, super cheesy, that’s not easy. I love getting kicked in the nuts repeatedly by cheesy soulless capitalism from GD Merchandising. So excited about the new John Mayer action figures slated for Jerry’s upcoming birthday.

July 21, 2020 at 7:20 amyeah those open hearted supposedly socialist and communist inspired countries have produced so well living countries and world powers. Will the Mayer figure be a bobblehead? Would go well with my Jerry bobblehead that I am sure Jerry’s remaining family gets a piece of cash from. And why not?

July 20, 2020 at 10:22 amHow many kids does it take to make them. Jerry would kick the guy who came up with this dumb idea.

July 21, 2020 at 7:08 amAs if during Jerry’s days GD T’s weren’t being made by kids in 3rd world countries. By the way, those swabs and other healthcare essentials to be used in any virus testing or virus healthcare if you do get the dreaded the stuff is still being made in 3rd world countries with kids probably involved. Not to mention YOUR cell phone and other electronics.

July 20, 2020 at 3:51 pmIt’s bullsh*t that the orange ones are pretty much unavailable unless you live in SF. And to get the green ones, you have to enter rigged raffles at “select skate shops.” They’ll end up on eBay for ridiculous prices…
Jim
July 21, 2020 at 7:14 amOh yes a country that has always been driven by the desire for shekels. Did YOU think they would be free? Ever go to a job? Was it not for money? They are to much brightly colored for me. I like my tye-dyed T’s but sneakers remain basically black. The BEARS also not a favorite logo. just personal likes and dislikes. WE all have them.
