Ending a tradition that began over 50 years ago, Arlo Guthrie has announced that his 2019 Thanksgiving show at Carnegie Hall will be his last.
Guthrie’s first Thanksgiving show at the famed venue took place in 1967, the same year his classic holiday tune “Alice’s Restaurant” hit the airwaves.
In previous Carnegie Hall performances, Gutherie has collaborated as a duo with Pete Seeger; the final version of that show took place in 2012.
This year, for his “Last Annual” show on Nov. 30, Guthrie’s daughter Sarah Lee will provide musical support.

October 23, 2019 at 2:23 pmThis is very sad for Arlo Guthrie fans!
I have seen him perform at the Newport Folk festival in 19….. and many times after.
Last I saw him perform in Stuart ,Fl. January 2019!
Every bit as good and most enjoyable concert. Sad to see you go Arlo, enjoy the retirement, you deserve it!
