On April 28, soul- and gospel-influenced supergroup The Word—which features keyboardist John Medeski, pedal steel maestro Robert Randolph and North Mississippi Allstars’ brother duo of Luther and Cody Dickinson—will reunite for a show in New Orleans to help close out the first weekend of this year’s Jazz Fest.
Dubbed the First Sunday Sermon, the show will take place at New Orleans’ Joy Theater and will feature special guests G. Love and Southern Avenue. Tickets to the show go on sale this Friday, March 25, at 10 a.m. CT. The performance will mark The Word’s first show since April 2016 (which was also a Jazz Fest show at the Joy).
