The String Cheese Incident have shared a clip circa 1999, featuring a heavy tease of Steely Dan’s “Hey Nineteen” jammed into their own ‘Round The Wheel track “Galactic.”
Percussionist Andrew Barr and bassist Marc Friedman of The Slip also sit in on the 17-plus minute jam, which took place on Feb. 27, 1999 at Walk Music Hall in Jackson Hole, Wy.
Winter 1999 was a particularly fruitful era for SCI; it was during this time they recorded their beloved live compilation Carnival ’99 and you can definitely sense the band’s forward momentum in the “Hey Nineteen”> “Galactic” jam.
Clearly, SCI has been feeling nostalgic. As they celebrate their 25th year, they also recently dropped eight vintage shows on Spotify.
