Steely Dan have announced a nine-snow residency at New York’s Beacon Theatre for this October, where the band will present themed shows including full performances of several classic albums and more.
Co-founder Donald Fagen will lead the group through performances of 1973’s Countdown to Ecstasy, 1976’s The Royal Scam, 1977’s Aja, 1980’s Gaucho and Fagen’s 1982 solo effort The Nightfly, plus nights with the themes “By Popular Demand” and “Greatest Hits.”
Fagen’s band will consist of guitarist Jon Herington, drummer Keith Carlock, bassist Freddie Washington, keyboardist Jim Beard, a horn section and backup vocalists.
Steely Dan will also be playing a number of newly announced headlining shows leading up to the Beacon residency, including stops in Richmond, VA, Pittsburgh, Buffalo, NY, Baltimore and Bethlehem, PA.
